Your LA Coffee Run Is Heading to London: Urth Caffé Is Opening in Covent Garden

One of LA’s most recognizable café names is getting a new address, and this time it’s across the Atlantic.

Urth Caffé is set to open in London’s Covent Garden in 2027, bringing its California-born café concept to the British capital for the first time.

The upcoming location feels fitting for a brand built around the idea of lingering over coffee. Covent Garden is one of central London’s most walkable destinations, filled with cafés, restaurants, boutiques and the historic market at its center.

Urth has been part of Southern California’s café scene for decades. Its menu spans organic coffees and teas, breakfast, lunch and plenty of desserts, but longtime fans know the experience is about more than what’s on the table. A sunny afternoon at Urth has become something of an LA ritual.

The London location will introduce that experience to a completely new crowd.

Urth revealed the expansion on social media, sharing that the character of Covent Garden and its blend of longstanding traditions and newer businesses made the neighborhood a natural choice for its arrival.

While the café is expected to open sometime in 2027, an exact date and additional details about the London space have yet to be announced.

Until then, we're already picturing it: coffee at Urth, shopping around Covent Garden and an afternoon wandering through London.
